Where can I get a made to order birthday card?

I need to get a 30th Birthday card for my fiancee.





I would like to get a hand made one that has 30th and fiancee on the front....Does anybody know any websites that can do this for me?

Reply:See if you can find a local crafter. It is much easier to explain what you want face to face. Ask all your family and friends. This is a very popular hobby so someone is bound to know someone. Ask to see samples of their work as you may not like a particular style. I don't like the altered image style much.





Ask at your local craft shop. They will know who buys lots of cardmaking stuff and crafters often bring their work in to show off so they will have some idea who does the best work.





Ask at the Marie Curie shop. They sell handmade cards donated by crafters. If you see a style you like they may be able to put you in touch with the maker. Most will take occasional commissions even if they don't normally sell their cards.





Ask at your local library and look on their notice board. There may be a local club





Check local evening classes for a cardmaking one and ask the tutor if she will make one or recommend someone

You can call her shop on 0208 397 4634. (Based in Chessington, Surrey - U.K). There's usually a member of staff that answers the phone, but she hand makes all the cards herself.

Reply:I make cards to order, what are you looking for? I'm sure that a local craft shop or maybe your own local shop (if they sell hand made cards) would be able to put you in touch with the maker - most people can make something to order! I'm off on holiday until October 10th otherwise I'd offer! I quite often use peoples photo's (cars, pets etc) and poetry for inserts, I even made a Xmas card for someone who wanted a manger scene with 'It's a girl' on the front! still don't understand that one! Lol!
