Funny birthday cards?

hey, I'm looking for some ideas ffor making a birthday card. Any ideas as to what I could put in one? any funny sayings/pictures with sayings?

Funny birthday cards?
I hear that there are companies that do nothing but do this...

Hallmark, American Greetings...

Birthday Cards for old people?

What funny old people quotes can you put in a birthday card for someone who is turning 42

Birthday Cards for old people?
Ha-ha that's very funny, especially since I'm 46. How about "Congratulations, you're another year closer to the half a century mark!"
Reply:I provided for you a few links to hopefully help you in your search for a humorous quote to fit the person and their birthday.

I think the funniest one I found was: “Life begins at 40 - but so do fallen arches, rheumatism, faulty eyesight, and the tendency to tell a story to the same person, three or four times.” By: Helen Rowland

(You could change the age from 40 to 42)
Reply:cheat my friend!

Visit a hallmark store and put your own spin on it! ;)
Reply:First you crawl.

Then you walk.

Then you begin to stoop.

Getting old is pigeon poop.
Reply:tell them that they must know every thing in the universe because 42 is the answer to every thing(read the hitch hikers guide to the galaxy)
Reply:42's not old, if your a tree!

What to write on a birthday card for a wife ?

My friend just called me and asked me what he should write on a birthday card he wants to give to his wife..

So I decided to come on here and ask...

So any suggestions or ideas what to write would be greatly appreciated...

What to write on a birthday card for a wife ?
I think it would be so romantic to say, "you will always have my heart ... "
Reply:hey you:)

happy birthday and i love you should be all the words she needs...ttys...take care
Reply:"I love you, worship you and adore you even more with each passing year. Happy birthday my beautiful wife!"

**ADD**

If he really wants to rack up the brownie points, he could use one of these quotes:

The hours I spend with you I look upon as sort of a perfumed garden, a dim twilight, and a fountain singing to it.  You and you alone make me feel that I am alive.  Other men it is said have seen angels, but I have seen thee and thou art enough.  ~George Moore

A hundred hearts would be too few

To carry all my love for you.

I love you like crazy, baby

'Cuz I'd go crazy without you.

Reply:"I LOVE YOU" works for me. I can't believe he even remembered my birthday!

Do you keep sending birthday cards w/ money inside to great-nephews/nieces if you never get a thank-you?

I used to be close to my niece but after she got out of college %26amp; mixed up with a guy that has been arrested several times she changed - a lot. She has 2 little boys that we only see during the holiday or at weddings/funerals/etc. I am the only aunt that sends a birthday card to the boys %26amp; I put money inside but she never says thank you (they boys are too little to acknowledge the cards %26amp; money). I have to send her an email to make sure the cards got there and she responds with yes but never thank you. I always buy for her boys at Christmas but she never says thank you - I am getting tired of it because I am the only one in the family (other than the grandparents / great-grandparents) who spend any money on these boys. I love buying for the boys but I get tired of trying to help out with extra gifts when the parents don't even say thanks - I am debating as to if I should buy this year or not. Others have stopped helping her because she doesn't seem to appreciate it. What would you do?

Do you keep sending birthday cards w/ money inside to great-nephews/nieces if you never get a thank-you?
Send a card to the house and purchase a savings bond for whatever holiday you are acknowledging. That way the kids get (or at least you hope they are getting) the 'happy xxx' from you but the mom doesn't get your cash. When the bond (or the kids - which ever comes first) mature you can either give them the bonds or cash them in and re-invest them in their names. I'm a busy single mom and I have to admit that I am occasionally lax in sending thank you notes but I always recognize the things that are done for my daughter when they are brought to my attention (like with a follow up ---- did you get XXX) and with an apology for failing to thank who ever sent something.

Don't send any more cash - if the idea of bonds isn't favorable then get gift certificates for clothing stores appropriate for their ages - not Sears or something but somewhere that the gifts can ONLY be used for the boys.

I can't in good faith say - stop doing for them -- however, you can tailor your gifts to make sure that the boys who aren't old enough to know better are the beneficiaries rather than their mother who should - by all accounts - thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness
Reply:Instead of buying something, make a donation in their name instead with the money you would have spent. It's kind of a slap in the face to them but at the same time it's going to people who truly appreciate your generosity. I wouldn't continue giving to people who don't show appreciation.
Reply:You should do whatever you want to do...the boys are lucky to have such a thoughtful aunt, even if they are too little to understand the meaning of cards/money...Hopefully once they get a little older they will start thanking you on their own.
Reply:well i guess you need to look inside your heart and wonder are you sending the gifts because you want someone to think you're awesome for sending them a gift. or do you just want to make someone happy because they got a gift from great-aunt suzy?
Reply:If you are sending the gifts to feel good about yourself, then stop.

If you are sending them to make the boys feel good, then continue.
Reply:You should have stopped doing it the second time she didn't thank you. Don't reward rudeness.
Reply:Generosity shouldn't require a thank you. If you need one then quit sending gifts.
Reply:well that sukx....u should stop doin that probbbably she doesnt even care...or just tell her...if she has some manners..?
Reply:It sounds as though she's involved with some bad influence. I pity the children. My guess is the money you send isn't going to the kids. You may want to buy savings bonds in their names and giving them to them when they're old enough and hopefully have developed a sense of appreciation. Don't lose contact with the boys. They're going to need a positive influence as they grow up. Your heart is in the right place. Good luck.
Reply:It must be quite saddening that they don't say thank you.

If I was in your shoes, I would stop send the money. If the parents don't say thank you, it indicates that they don't appreciate the extra gifts you're giving to their kids. You also don't see the boys often anyway so they're not close to you anyway -there's no emotional attachment involved for them at all. Also, there's no-one who looks after them that can teach them manners and appreciation towards and for you.

sweet. :)
Reply:Wonderful, lovely and quite impressive.
Reply:I think that is a really thoughtful message. As you say she is your friend, I also think that it balances caring for her without going beyond the boundaries of your friendship :-)

What is one of the funniest Birthday Cards you have been given?

No crude but funny. What were the words?

I received this from a friend of ours:-

Dear......

ONE DAY YOU SHIPWILL COME IN;- but,

WITH YOUR LUCK, YOU WILL PROBABLY BE AT THE AIRPORT.

Hope you all have a good week.

What is one of the funniest Birthday Cards you have been given?
That's a good one, I like it!

I had one saying:

The bright side of getting older is, the older you get you need more cake to fit all the candles on!
Reply:My Rival gave me a card and it says:

Happy Birthday Suckerzz!!
Reply:That is not fair...the funniest card I have seen was CRUDE.

It says....To My Wife of many Wonderful Years, This year for your birthday a bought you a card and a vibrator.

Inside it says...if you don't like the card you can go **** yourself.

Now that is truely funny
Reply:My dad got a funny one, it went like this:

Happy birthday!

Today is your birthday so you can pick any of the following to do today:

Fart

Drink beer

Watch a football game

Nothing

Eat

Lol, i thought it was hilarious XD

How long do you keep birthday and Christmas cards for?

I keep them forever. :)

How long do you keep birthday and Christmas cards for?
I keep them for a lifetime. I use the same xmas cards year after year for decorations. I keep them so every so often when I read what people wrote I can remember them or the time they gave them to me. Im a packrat that way but a neat one at least. Just because you keep stuff doesn't mean you get overwhelmed if you know how to store stuff.
Reply:bday cards get tossed in a couple of days, Christmas cards stay on the mantle until like new years then go in the recycling when the decorations get boxed up for the year.
Reply:Birthday cards...about one week

Christmas Card...about two weeks

Unless they are really meaningful, then I'll keep them indefinitely
Reply:Unless especially nice, my Christmas cards go out around New Year's.

Birthday cards the day of!
Reply:ones i get for myself,i toss...but i have every card my daughter has received from birth till this past christmas and she will be 5 in may
Reply:I'm actually sentimental, so cards from close friends and family I keep and store in a box. Recently, I've finally gotten rid of cards from past girlfriends, since I'll be getting married in 3 months. I know she (my fiance) wouldn't want those things hanging around somewhere in our first home.
Reply:if they look really really nice or i know its really meaninful to me i keep them for ever. how about u??
Reply:A long, long, long time....................................
Reply:til however long it takes me to lose them..
Reply:Not more than a week. If the pic is cute I'll hang on to it, but I've got grandchildren, and we use them for craft projects.
Reply:From family or close friends- one week

From anyone else- one day
Reply:I have a box in which I keep all the letters and cards my boyfriend has sent me. I also keep Christmas cards till the next year so I don't miss anyone to whom I should return the favor. Other than that, I don't keep any, unless they are really and truly remarkable - then I keep them for fun.
Reply:I'm not sentimental AT ALL so I tell my family %26amp; friends NOT to spend $3 on a card in the first place and call me instead. The ones I do get, I throw out after reading them.

When do you open a mailed birthday card?

I got a card-shaped envelope in the mail today, but my birthday isn't until Wednesday. Am I supposed to open it now, or wait?

When do you open a mailed birthday card?
Some people save them up and open them on their birthday. Others open them as soon as they receive them, put them on display somewhere and enjoy them for several days. You can do whatever makes you happy.

And since I won't be able to do so on Wednesday, I'll wish you a happy birthday now!
Reply:Don't wait to open mail, if they wanted you to wait, they would have written that on the envelope.
Reply:open it now
Reply:open it now! i always open them right when i get them.
Reply:Do whatever makes you happy. There are no rules about this. Geez.
Reply:Go ahead and open it, then give your friend a call and thank them for the birthday card.
Reply:open it now!!!!
Reply:I open it when i receive it
Reply:Do whatever the person that sent it to you would want you to do, or be okay with you doing. You'll feel better about it and you never know, they might asked when you opened it. Better safe than sorry.
Reply:There is nothing wrong with opening it now.

Make sure you call and say thanks to the person who sent it to you!
Reply:Oh my gosh, cant' you make a decision by yourself? Open it now for goodness sake and enjoy it.
Reply:Unless you're having a party and expecting that the person will be there, in which case you would wait to open it in front of that person, then go ahead and open the card now. If you're having a party and expecting to open things there, and the person who sent it is likely to be there, then you should bring it with you and wait to open it, so that the person won't be embarassed by the appearance that they didn't recognize your birthday.
Reply:do whatever you want.

Where did I leave the gift card I bought for my sister's birthday?

I bought it and put it with the birthday card, then I took it out and put it in my wallet, then......I can't find it, I may have taken it out of the wallet but I can't find it anywhere.

Do you know of techniques that might help me find it?

Where did I leave the gift card I bought for my sister's birthday?
Buy another one and the first one will show up.

C. :)!!
Reply:Hey, guess what, I found it. You left it at my house. I'll mail it to you. OK ?
Reply:you mentioned it was in your wallet, and since it is the size of a credit card, probably with them. You might have taken it out on accident while making a purchase. Maybe check by the computer or telephone incase you might have made a purchase that way, or maybe in your car, if you made a purchase at a drive through.

Hoope i helped and good luck with that!
Reply:it fell out of your wallet.

it was blown against the fence in the parking lot.

buy a new card, or make one on the computer.

Will you send this little boy with leukemia a birthday card?

Will you send this little boy with leukemia a birthday card?
Reading that article gave me goose bumps, im going to send him a card. I wrote down his address.
Reply:How about sending a donation to some group that will cure his condition, and asking them to send a note to him acknowledging the donation?
Reply:Of course I will. It's a good idea for you to put it on Yahoo Answers!!!

I think it is very rude for some people to say that this is just a scam. How rude. Even if it was a scam (which I highly doubt it is) all you would be wasting was a piece of constuction paper and less than $.50 for a postage stamp!

This does bring up one question though. Can you send a card to Canada with an American stamp?

I don't know what to write inside a 2-year-olds birthday card. Can you help me?

The card had a picture of a princess on the front. Inside it says Happy Birthday your cuteness, but I want it to be different inside, I want to wirte something more.

I don't know what to write inside a 2-year-olds birthday card. Can you help me?
"Happy birthday to the prettiest princess I know"

Toddler girls are into being "so pretty" An idea: give her a "special" tiara with the card.

Also throw a couple of xoxo's in there. Toddlers especially love hugs and kisses.
Reply:I'd probably write "to mom %26amp; dad's little helper". It says more about character than being pretty.
Reply:happy birthday
Reply:A 2 year old does not care about a card, they can't read and could care less. We as adults think we have to do things like this. Spend that money on a gift ..
Reply:Two year olds do not usually know how to read, but, they identify with pictures that you draw. Seriously, it is how I used to write my grandsons and they loved it! They knew what the pictures meant. A 2 yr old probably will NOT know many picture meanings, but if you try to write a note by drawing pixs on the card, it will be different~
Reply:I disagree with 3030gal. I haven't meet a 2 yr old yet that didn't like to get a card in the mail. It is something that is just for them and no one else. Which in turn makes them feel special because you sent it to them personally. They maynot get the meaning of it to its full extent. However, if those cards are saved and treasured they will look at them when thay are older and remember how much they have always been loved.

Can you sell cards (like birthday cards) that you've made from Copyrighted rubber stamps?

yes, my mom has recently started selling her cards to various gift shops. you just can't make another stamp like the ones you're using. good luck!!

Can you sell cards (like birthday cards) that you've made from Copyrighted rubber stamps?
Prob. not b/c that image is copyrighted. They own that image.
Reply:If the rubber stamps are copyrighted then NO because they have the copyrights to those images. If you do and the company finds out then they can sue you for every dime you have made plus what ever else they wanted to charge you with and make you pay.
Reply:Can you? Yes.

Will the rubber stamp company every find out? No.

Does it violate a copyright law? Yes. Unless you alter the image significantly (so as to make it easily recognizable as a distinctly different picture).

What to do? I refer you to the first two questions/answers.
Reply:NO you cant do it professionally but if you were just doing it to friends and such like in church or something then its not big deal

Is it important to send birthday cards to family members?

what happens if you forget?

Is it important to send birthday cards to family members?
From a mans point of view, no. It's a money making racket. From a woman's point of view it is a necessity
Reply:you wont get one in return. you should always remember close family though
Reply:You are naughty!

Do you get p'd off when people forget your birthday?

If so, then don't forget their's.

If you're not bothered, then go ahead with your selfish life and enjoy every minute.
Reply:Most of my family live in other countries, they appreciate a birthday call more than cards and gifts while my ex's family see the value of the gift as an expression of how much a person loves you so they endup not speaking to family members for years over something so silly.

Basicly it depends on your family culture. Ask someone in your family.
Reply:The giving of birthday cards show people that you are infact thinking of them...Gifts are not so important however if you forget someones birthday and remember without being told by them send a sorry card and write a message explaining that you know your forgot it and your sorry!! It's the thought that counts
Reply:if you forget just buy a belated card,it is important.
Reply:Depends on the family member. I personally don't care if I receive a card from my family members. My mother-in-law on the other hand gets offended by a lack of a card.
Reply:If you forget pick up the phone and call, and say sorry i forgot, but how are you and how was your birthday etc. Make them feel loved. Do as you would be done by!
Reply:Are you and your family close and in constant contact with each, if so then small little tokens are just as much cherished all year round, than expensive cards and presents once a year.
Reply:Jay Dee,

It is important to let them know that they are important to you. If you forget, call them and explain that you forgot!!!
Reply:yes, they are hurt when u forget
Reply:Yes I think it's important, but my brother never sends cards or gifts to anyone but his current girlfriend of the moment, yet he expects the whole family to remember him, his daughter, AND his current squeeze! So I've stopped sending to him.
Reply:Yes, it's important. If you forget, you can send belated cards.
Reply:Yes it is important to send birthday cards to family members......it shows you care....

If you forget send a belated card to them, they will be very happy that you remembered them.
Reply:i dont sends birthday cards to any of my family, as i told them i cant do its any more , as i have kids of my own , my family unstands were iam coming fr , why don't u ask them how they fill about its , them your question will be answer,
Reply:It's good to stay in contact and show sign that you care for them. Yes, it's important especially in your birthday. Everybody wants to feel special that day.
Reply:It's important to stay in touch with family at all times, not just birthday, Christmas, etc. It's always nice to know that someone is thinking about you, someone remembered you. It's depressing when you know no one cares.

If you forgot, give them a quick phone call, apologize, and move on. Never hurts to call anyway.
Reply:Ask yourself ,do you like to receive a card ? and how do you feel if you get forgotten ? There , you have the answer in your own feelings .
Reply:I think so . Little things mean a lot. It is the thought that counts. Some people can't afford a gift but a card will mean that you didn't forget. It is a very important event. God Bless.
Reply:no, nothing

In all human relationships, the best ting is to REALLY be there for soembody, especially when tey need something. Cards are cheap and show some thinking about the person. Honest caring worth 10,000 times moe.
Reply:Depends on your family. If they get pissed off at that sort of thing then I would send one because you don't want them pissed!
Reply:Well, in our immediate family we still get together for our birthdays, so yes, giving a card is important. It's what we've always done, since we could. We don't all have our own families or anything yet, and we haven't all moved to different parts of the country or anything. So yes, even if we can't be there for the occasion, we usually drop by later with our card and gift.

It's only important if it's something that has always been done. A family who has never done it wouldn't consider it important. Every family is different and does things their own way. If you forget, that's what belated birthday cards are for!
Reply:send a belated card - yes always send a card better late than never...
Reply:it's a way of keeping in touch
Reply:Yes I think so - let's them know you're thinking of them. Oh, and I don't forget.
Reply:Oh yes ,if you are still in touch with your family members it is definitely important to send birthday cards. you might start a cold war with your family if you do not.
Reply:Its good to send cards to family members, it shows that you care, nothing happens if you forget.............good luck and god bless
Reply:If you forget, send a belated card or give them a call. As far as importance goes, it all depends on how close you are to your family and whether or not they will appreciate you thinking about them.
Reply:No not really it all depends on the kind of relationship you have with them.
Reply:women take it seriously but most guys go along with it !! its a money spinner for the manufacturers just look how many reason are brought about so as to entice you buy a card of some sort Most families will pick up the phone and wish happy whatever it is and that will suffice There comes a time in life when your really pushing it as i am i dont wish anyone to remind me thats another year gone by because i think its another less so for me shut the door as you go out
Reply:well i forgot to send a card to my mum and she cried for 2days. it made me feel guilty. Buy a calender! i did and now i never forget cards!

Do I have to send Thank You cards to everyone that came to my daughter's 2nd birthday party?

There were quite a few people at my daughter's 2nd birthday party. Do I have to write out Thank you cards and send them to the people that were there and I thanked already in person, or could I get away with just sending cards to the ones that sent gifts and didn't make it. I don't remember my mom ever sending "Thank you"'s when I was a kid......

Do I have to send Thank You cards to everyone that came to my daughter's 2nd birthday party?
I don't think my mom sent cards on my behalf. Once I was old enough I did send my own.

It would be nice to send thank you notes to all those who gave your child a present.
Reply:I think they are a big waste of time.
Reply:Yes if they brought a gift or food or anything like that. You will also be teaching your child nice manners.
Reply:I would send cards to those who bought gifts %26amp; have your 2 yr old sign them. You never send thank you cards to someone just for showing up at a party regardless of age.
Reply:If someone coughed up money for a gift - they get a thank you note. the rest were your house guests and should be thanking you for free food
Reply:who like thank you cards??send em eiffel tower..
Reply:My mom wasn't very good about it either.

But, in my opinion, I think it's very important to send thank you cards. It shows that you really DO appreciate them showing up to wish your daughter a happy birthday.

It's also important because it lets your friends and family that were there know that you are truly thankful that they are around.

It may be a pain in the butt for an hour out of your day, but it's worth it knowing that they will smile when they recieve a card from you in the mail.

Buy a package of thank you cards, and personalize it by writing a little note on the inside. This saves the time of handwriting every note, and you only have to add a personalized touch, instead of making them yourself.

Don't chince it and do email either, a hand written note really shows you care that they were there to make your daughter's day special.
Reply:If i sent thank you cards to everyone who showed up at my kids' parties it would take days to do. We actually have to rent a big building to have ours. So when my kids' open a gift, i tell them who it was from and they have to tell them thank after opening it. Then the kids' hand out the goodie bags to the other kids and they tell the kids thank you for coming. So people are leaving me and my child hug them and thank them for coming and the gift or whatever they brought.
Reply:just to people who sent gifts and didn't make it...even so if you just dont want to send cards at all give them a phone call.
Reply:We just had our 2 year old birthday party on sunday and I was contemplating the same thing. My conclusion was to buy their children gifts on their birthdays and a little thankyou now maybe with a photo of my son.
Reply:You should send thank-you cards to anyone who gave a gift.

at a kroger or any deli that makes cakes
Reply:most bakers do it. i live in nyc but im sure someone in your nabe does it too
Reply:I have had this done at the local Safeway store, they have a copier that will take a copy of the picture then they scan it to the edible paper that gets laid on your cake.. I would take it to Fred myer or Safeway or even a Dairy Queen would be able to help.
Reply:asda do it as long as its not copyrighted
Reply:At Costco you can bring in photos and other material and they will copy it onto a cake. (thier cakes are good too). the only problem if you don't have a good salary you cant pay the monthly payment to shop at costco.

How long will a snail-mailed birthday card take?

I am snail-mailing a birthday card to my G.F. in Houston, Tx.

How long (how many days) will a card (envelope) take travelling from Amarillo, Tx (zip 79108) to Houston. Tx (zip 77077)?

Her birthday is April 04, so which day, ultimately should I mail this?

Thanks.... and on a lucky day (wind-direction and attitude of the mail-carrier permitting) the mail *should* arrive in time.

How long will a snail-mailed birthday card take?
It'll probably take about 3 days, but I'd say mail it no later than the 1st of April.

If there is a post-office near you, I would drop it off there rather than have the postal carrier pick it up from your home mailbox. That way your card doesn't spend a day in the mail carrier's truck before it even gets to a post-office to get processed.
Reply:I would mail it on Tuesday, Apr.1st, to be safe. It might get there a day early, depending on wind direction, but better early than late!

I get things from Houston to College Station, TX in one day. To Lawton and Stillwater, OK in two days.

What funny thing can I say when signing the requisite corporate birthday card?

I have that typical office birthday card to sign and I want to say something funny and clever, but still PC (no need to get myself fired). Anyone got anything up their sleeve?

I was afraid if I did not sign this card I would be beaten like Quasimoto, so I signed it just in case.

Guys, please tell me some of your best sarcastic lines to write in a birthday card?

Hii,

I am looking for some sarcastic lines to write in a birthday greeting card meant for a girl who's turning 29 in a couple of days. Please write as much as possible. I'd prefer some sarcastic humour or what some people call cocky comedy. you can also give me some links if you know some sites about sarcastic humour. I dont mind a touch of romance in that but not the 'wuss' type please. thanks.

Guys, please tell me some of your best sarcastic lines to write in a birthday card?

Here's a card to someone who's witty, intelligent, sexy, fun, and totally indispensable to humankind...but, enough about me! (then on the other side of the card, write, the following)

Send her a card saying "HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY."

She is probably already dreading the idea of turning 30, so bringing it a whole year forward a year could get the effect that you are after !!!

(You could also get her on of those small cakes, a badge etc - all saying 30th too)
Reply:I've never been called 'Toy Boy' by my mates until now.......

How much to put on a gift card for a co-workers birthday?

My co-worker is 30 and is having a party at her house today. I already got her a birthday card and I'm going to get her a gift card to Target. How much should I put on the card? I was going to put $50 but I think that's too much. What do you guys say? $25-30. Our relationship is good, but it's not like we hang out during the weekends and stuff. Once we go out to happy hours after work as a group.

How much to put on a gift card for a co-workers birthday?
$30.00 in honor of her 30th birthday is perfect.
Reply:$25 sounds OK to me.

And brava to the birthday girl for not having the party at the office.

(I definitely don't recommend hitting up other co-workers for money.)
Reply:id say 25 is good, 50 is in my opinion too much, good luck and enjoy yourself
Reply:I say $30 is good. $50 would be a little too much.
Reply:$25 is good enough.
Reply:25 is enough for her to get a steak dinner.
Reply:$25.00 sounds about right.
Reply:If you are contributing alone, I think $25 is great unless you are a doctor, lawyer or the general manager. Or, you can collect from all your co-workers, ie: $20 from each and then the gift card will be more! That is what we do at our office.

Hope this helped! :D

Does anyone know a good place or website with birthday cards?

I want to get a good card for my boyfriend... but hallmark cards can be stupid. The love ones are cheesy marriage type things and the funny ones are not funny to me. I just want something that can actually make you laugh or something with meaning behind it. Not like " you inspire me" or "you are the love of my life"... bleh i want something real... something I would actually say and mean it.

Does anybody have a family member or relative who is late in sending birthday cards?

or any special occasion card -- most or all of the time

Also, have you sometimes gotten nothing at all even though you got a phone call and know they love you?

What do you think or how do you feel about this? Does it bother you or not matter?

Does anybody have a family member or relative who is late in sending birthday cards?
it doesn't matter if i get a belated birthday card.....a call instead of a gift...with so much going on in everyone's lives these days....seems like things are crazy for everyone....i'm just thankful when someone remembers at some point its my bd.....
Reply:I say better late than never. At least someone thought of you.

To me, it's usually the family members who don't get out much or just don't have that much to give anyway. Birthday wishes are fine with me (unless it's my husband, and he better remember on time and come up with some romantic dinner plans!)
Reply:I doubt my answer will be your choice for best answer, but I put it forth anyway.

Guess I am one of those individuals that never really thought that birthdays are big thing for teenagers or adults. I rarely send them, except on special birthdays like 16,18, 40, and 80. In my opinion, it is a greater gift to share ones time with them than give them a gift or a card.

Most of the individuals in my family know my feelings on this issue, so I have not received any cards from anyone other than my great grand-kids in over 30 years.

And it has never bothered me, maybe because I was raised in a poor family where material gifts would have had to replace the mortgage payment or something else we really needed.

I also refuse to accept Christmas gifts that are not made by them. I prefer something like homemade cookies, or a original poem(they wrote), or a tape of them singing, or painting (they painted). But most of all the greatest gift is to sat down with them at Christmas and be part of their lives.
Reply:I take my Mom and Dad out to dinner on my Birthday. If not for them I would not be here. I don't care if the rest of my family remembers my Birthday. No big deal.
Reply:my mother, all my life we have either gotten unsigned birthday cards days late, or not at all, and last year was the topper......... 2 months late......... the year before it was a month early...... but always unsigned..........my two kids are still waiting........ she never remembers their birthdays..... my nephew just had his 17th birthday, not even a phone call........

It just disappoints me...... we've always known she didn't want kids...... it was plainly stated more than once, however, what gets me is she only has 4 grand kids...... can she not even make an effort for them?...... NOT

Just disappointment.........I'm passed being bothered except for the kids........ that bugs me.....
Reply:It bothers the hell out of me that my husband's parents never acknowledge my birthday, my kid's birthdays, or even my husband's and my wedding anniversary. But then I take a step back and remind myself that they are choosing to miss out on being a part of a pretty awesome family. Their loss--not mine.

What are some cute birthday card ideas?

it's a belated card seeing how my friends 20th birthday was just yesterday.

since i can't see him at all, i have to mail it to him.. i thought about taping a balloon on the inside of the card to tell him that he could blow it up since balloons can't ship through the mail or something. but i don't know if that's really cute.

any more ideas please?

What are some cute birthday card ideas?
A homemade card with your own handwriting rather than some canned remarks from a commercial card-producing company would be really special. You can put a balloon or anything special in it.

If you are creative, you could write your own "lyrics," a poem that really expresses your feelings, you could include a photo, you can do anything you want . . . .

And it's my opinion that something original is better and more personal than something bought from a store!

Good luck! Best wishes!
Reply:Thats agreat idea. I wish someone would do that for me, I love balloons and its a sweet thought by you.
Reply:you could call some one who ships balloons and you could send him a separate card but idk... SORRY!!!!~Morgan
Reply:a nice naked picture of u on the inside and a mango on the front

It's possible you're simply typing it in wrong... A blank space can easily sneak into any address - or it could be something as simple as forgetting the @ sign, or mistyping a word such as Yahoo or Hotmail... ;););)

Why do Christians send each other Christmas cards instead of sending birthday cards to Jesus?

How does that make sense?

Why do Christians send each other Christmas cards instead of sending birthday cards to Jesus?
I no longer send Christmas cards, or any other cards, except via email. I consider all paper cards a blatant waste of money because most of them are generally tossed in the trash. It is more beneficial to send the money for the cards and accompanying stamps to charity.
Reply:I agree... And why do they give each other gifts? It's not their birthday, it's the Lord's??? This has always puzzled me...
Reply:Well, we spread the birth of Jesus to all our loved ones, and bless them. And we are waiting for the coming of Jesus. So, he is half man, half spirit, so we dont really know when he is coming. DUH!!
Reply:where would they send the cards to??? heaven 333 or hell 666
Reply:We, do that, in the form of prayer. %26lt;}:-})
Reply:birthday cards? r u serious?? who are you going to sent it to? heaven??
Reply:How about yourself? And where do you mail it to?
Reply:Because Christmas is not Christ's "birthday", it is our celebration of the Incarnation. We rejoice together in the unfolding of the process that climaxes at Holy Pascha.
Reply:Do you have Jesuss address or email? lol

I think it's just a way of keeping the spirit, and to say hi to those you don;t see often.

Another Q? Why do we give and get gifts on his birthday?
Reply:They don't have Jesus' address to smother him with cards.

And they still don't know when he was born, so it's moot. (Would he really like cards on Ra's birthday?)
Reply:Jesus was a gift to us, not to himself because he is selfless.
Reply:well the mail delivery in heaven is a little slow, but we do pray and it arrives instantly..
Reply:Well we reseve that holiday and worship him.

But when was the last time you checked ont he phone book and saw his address?

interesting we lift him up in praise instead of sending him a useless paper card.
Reply:Give me his address and i'll send him one....
Reply:Cuz, he moved and no one has the address and if everyone sends out a card maybe they will find him.
Reply:How exactly would you suggest sending a card to heaven???
Reply:How would one send a birthday card to Jesus?
Reply:I didnt realize Jesus had an address to send a card to.

If this is suppose to be a bash on christians celebrating christmas it is really really reaching and pretty lame.

Maybe if you didnt ask question purposelly trying to bash on other people it would be a little more funny. There is nothing humorous about this question. If you were attempting to be then you failed miserably.
Reply:lol that's a funny question
Reply:They pray.

Jesus doesn't have an address anyway?
Reply:???????????????????

and i am a Christian

ask you self
Reply:Since when was it just christians?
Reply:Jesus isn't accepting mail right now, in fact the last time I called his secretary said his people would call my people and we'd do lunch. That was 15 years ago. Also Ahura Mazda, Buddha, and not one of the stinking 96,000 gods of Hinduism has answered so much as a freaking email. You believe that? oh yeah, happy early winter solstice
Reply:How would you send a birthday card to Jesus?
Reply:Obviously, you don't believe in Christmas since you asked a silly questions like this. That's like saying, "I'm sending a St. Patty's Day card to a leprechaun instead of to my loved one".

Not that you really NEED an explaination but I'll give you one anyway - The reason we send Christmas cards to each other is because we want to wish our friends/family a Happy Christmas.
Reply:So... what's the address to send Jesus some bday cards?
Reply:I don't know His address.
Reply:Christmas is about giving....so give cards to show people that we care, although its something you can do all through the year. A card is just a token of love, and warmth. We dont send them to Jesus because HE wants our praise and worship not card. We praise Him with the fruit of our lips not with someone elses words on a card.
Reply:when i was little i remember going to sunday school and on christmas we sang happy birthday to jesus and ate b-day cake.
Reply:how would the send birthday cards to jesus.
Reply:lol that is sooo funny. i answered anothe question you answered and laughed at you and pitied you for being so ignorent and now you are helping me prove it.

Does anyone know where to find a Harley Davidson birthday card?

I am looking for a Harley Davidson birthday card, I am not sure where to check. I tried Hallmark, but no luck. I live in a very rural area so and suggestions would be very appreciated. Thank you!

Does anyone know where to find a Harley Davidson birthday card?
They have them at my local Harley Store.
Reply:Just get a regular birthday card and dab some used motor oil on it here and there. And make sure it's a really ugly, glitzy, bling-bling looking kind of card with chrome-looking accents, oh and it should cost 4 times as much as the other cards that look better and get the message across much better.
Reply:At you local H-D retailer or any gift shop..
Reply:Yes Go to Ebay, yes Ebay and type in harley davidson and a site will come up where you can purchase assorted cards from them. I hope this helps. My Mans a Harley man also ;)
Reply:Go to yahoo greetings and type in Harley under search. You will find several hd e-cards to choose from.
Reply:Harley dealers usually stock them. Would have said Hallmark as I've seen them around, but you have tried that.
Reply:The best place would be Harley, of course! Around here Hallmark carries them. If you have the time try online. Good Luck!
Reply:a harleydealer should help you or get something close enough to fashion a birthday card from it to custom make a card.
Reply:If you are in a rural area then there probably isn't a Harley shop around either. Have you tried E-bay? Maybe you could try the Harley website. Sometime you can find them at places like Walmart or Target...but whose to say whether they will be in stock or not. Good Luck!

At the Harley website...you can click on accessories or punch in your zip code. Good Luck
Reply:just go to your local harley dealer

How do I arrange for the White House to send a card to someone celebrating a milestone birthday?

I didn't realize I had limited space before. Someone I know is reaching their 90th birthday and I would like to know how to have them receive a birthday card from the White House.

How do I arrange for the White House to send a card to someone celebrating a milestone birthday?
The person receving the card must be at least 80, so this would be the perfect occasion.

According to the website below, you can submit the request via fax or mail to the Greetings Office of Presidential Correspondence.

Fax: 202-395-1232

Mail:

The White House

Attn: Greetings Office

Washington, DC 20502-0039

Include the name and address of the honoree (with their name exactly as they would like to be addressed, including Mr., Dr., etc.), and their birth date (including year). In order for the card to arrive on time, send the request 6 weeks before their birthday.

The site also has information on receiving cards for anniversarys (50 and higher), weddings, births, and other special occasions.
Reply:Contact the White House a certain period of time before the birthday (I think it's two weeks). Or call your local member of Congress. He (or she) will guide you through the procedure.

I have a picture that is about ten years old and I would love to make it a birthday card for fun for my friend, can any store do that?

How can I get a photo made into a birthday card?
Any Hallmark store or any store that developes film offers this service
Reply:Almost any printing shop could help you out, and even Walmart, Rite-Aid, or CVS photodeveloping and printing centers have things like this that you could use.

Also, if you have a scanner and some image software, you could make your own! Its always nice to add a personal touch. =] Good Luck
Reply:walgreens and cvs does it. most places that develop pictures will do it really cheap...at least where i live idk about any place else. but ive seen ads for them on the counters. even if its not one of the pics they developed theyll still make it into a card. ask them if you dont see any ads. hope i helped. good luck finding a place
Reply:I would try Office Depot or stAPLES

The old image must be scanned and color corrected then sized for the card... typically 4x6 format.

I can do it for you if you trust.... or you can go to the above and have them scan it and correct it
Reply:get photo shop or even ms paint and you can make your own card its easy!

but i think office max has a section in the back that does this, they make everything, books, calanders, banners, etc.

im sure they can make a card for you

How much would it cost to mail a birthday card to England from the United States?

The USPS website is freaking confusing. Please help? Just a simple birthday/Christmas card... how much would it cost?

How much would it cost to mail a birthday card to England from the United States?
Great question because I just checked this at the post office to send a Christmas card.

International First Class Airmail (probably 4-5 days):

1 ounce and under (a typical card) is 90 cents

2 ounces and under (a big card) is $1.80

You can buy 90 cent stamps at the Post Office, or just use three 41 cent stamps. You'll be overpaying by 33 cents, but you won't have to wait in line :)))

Also the envelope should be just a regular rectangular envelope like what comes with most greeting cards. No square or other strange shapes.
Reply:Go to the web site and hit the "calculate postage" button. Then put in the size of the package, ex. envelope. Enter the zip code that you're sending it from and the area to where you're mailing it to. Good luck.
Reply:I think it's going to cost you about 90 cents to send a standard card to England from the US. If your card is square (or other odd size), they charge more (double usually), so keep that in mind.

Usually I went to the post office to have them put the postage on, rather than guess at putting regular stamps on myself. That way you're sure!

Hope that helped you!

Is it appropriate to give a religious-themed birthday card to a recipient of another faith?

My grandmother always sends me religious-themed birthday cards, knowing that I am of a different faith than she is. I appreciate her thoughtfulness but am hurt by her obvious disregard for me and my choices.

I can't talk to her about it because she's very manipulative and blow everything out of proportion, make me feel extremely guilty and then go tell the rest of the extended family (700+ people) about it.

I am considering "accidentally" sending her a religious greeting card (for people of my religion) for her birthday, but feel this may start a quarrel. Is there proper etiquette for this situation and if so, what is it?

Is it appropriate to give a religious-themed birthday card to a recipient of another faith?
Proper etiquette...In this situation you really need to take a good look at things, and view the conditions from as many perspectives as possible. You must carefully consider the possible outcomes. You should respect her beliefs, whether she chooses to respect yours or not. Love and respect her for who she is as a person, irrespective of her faith. By sending her a religious greeting card for the people of your religion would only result in your stooping down to her level. Be the mature adult here, and don't let her disregard bother you, and just be accepting and respectful of her beliefs, whether you agree with those beliefs or not.

You're absolutely right, this should not be a matter of religeous differences, but a matter of etiquette, or, moreover, religous etiquette.

Is it possible for you and your husband to calmly speak with your grandmother about these differences, and tell her you feel hurt by her unacceptance? You're her grandchild after all, should she not accept you for who you are, irrespective of your beliefs?

As long as you are comfortable with who you are, strongly believe in what you believe, and accept your grandmother for who she is, there's no reason her improper etiquette should bother you. I realize this is easier said than done.

I wish you well in this, and I believe that talking things out with your grandmother would be the best way to go, or possibly writing her a letter. Be kind and genuine, but realize when you do need to put your foot down.

Good luck,

Sincerely,

Kiara

Reply:Grandmother obviously has issues; don't make them yours. If you do, it's a win (for her)/lose (for you) situation.
Reply:See, this is a very difficult issue. I've been in this situation many times myself. But you should remember that no matter what, you can never change the world or its inhabitants. I understan how this may have offended you, as it would have offended me as well. The problem is that religion is the biggest quarrel of the world. People will never agree to the differences. But sometimes, the best thing to do is to just accept who someone is, and just move on. Its a hard thing to do, but it will save A LOT of struggle in the future!
Reply:Just accept it as it was intended. If she didn't love you, you wouldn't be getting any cards. She is sending you a card based on HER faith. If you were of a faith that didn't believe in ostracized God, would you expect her to send you a card of that faith. One thing I've noticed from years in the corporate world is that companies have been taking on this air of 'political correctness' and now everyone is afraid of offending everyone else. Political correctness has people doing their best not to offend anyone but yet I get offended when I'm told that I can't send out Christmas cards but they have to be Holiday cards. If everyone were politically correct they would understand that I am sending based on my faith. Accept the card as it was intended.
Reply:She is your grandmother, right? Out of respect for her and yourself, just throw it away. Does your religion encourage respect, tolerance, love, and patience? You may have to practice more than she does.
Reply:It basically is cross culture.I mean why is it that we will always

say "Merry Christmas" or have Christmas commercials on TV.

Its like that.People really do not consider Christmas a religious

fest anymore but a cultural festival.Afte all its your grandmother

so im sue she will understand. If there was another person maybe

an Athiest who got that card I would start to worry. If it really

has some meaningfull quote from a religious text like "and god

said let there be light" I don't thnk its really that harmfull I mean

heck we have light and god is said to create everything in the Universe no matter what faith.Maybe if it was rather not a philisophical quote that is not harmful to whatever religion like the given example I would worry.Like if it sent a message saying

"Allha a Akbar" (Allah is great) then I think it may be somewhat

offensive or if it sends a message that praises your religion or

sondemns your grandma's or praises your lord alone. It all really

depends on if it is philisophical and has a harmless view point like Christmas holiday in which you can never find a hint of religion unless studied. But again remember she is family.Unless

you are used to her starting issues I would be afraid. If

she is generally nice then your good.If I had just a little more info like how nice or mean your grandmother is or your faith I could answer better.
Reply:Send her an atheist birthday card, if there is such a thing. It might get the point through her apparently thick skull.

Non-religious cards are very appropriate for what is called the holiday season in this country. Did you notice how excited the Christians all got when stores began to use "Happy Holidays" last year instead of Merry Christmas? Such arrogance - and insecurity - to presume that one particular religion has a lock on the Winter Solstice, which is where Christmas got its start.

A solstice card applies to everyone on earth, allowing the recipients to interpret it as they will and giving offense only to the most intolerant among us. Something to think about.
Reply:I understand where your going here, but my thoughts are simple. Religion to me strickly represents a place in which you go to worship. What you believe is the important issue. Do you and the gparent believe the same facts? There are alot of religous cards out there that don't specifically name a certain religion, those are perfect cards for even unbelievers of all kinds. You want to send something that you yourself would enjoy receiving. Thats how I do my cards as well as gifts. Good Luck..
Reply:no, idon't think so
Reply:I understand how you feel. My family (mother's side) was trying to convert me into a chirstian when i was 14. When i said i was not ready, they told me i was not part of the family (during a family dinner), that i was a slut and a prostitute if i did not convert. My mother said i was not her daughter and she dragged me to the church to be baptised and confirmed even though i had a continuos high fever which she ignored my health and blamed it on the devil. How sweet.
Reply:leave your gran. alone about it,smile respect your elders.

her card is a reflection of her beliefs.right? remember that she will pass b4 you.let her b happy. I promise it will come back 2 you many times over.
Reply:Many religions teach us to treat others as we would wish to be treated, and to refrain from treating others as we would NOT wish to be treated. If this is true of your beliefs, then it would be wrong by your own faith to send your grandmother such a card. Instead, be glad that she has thought to remember you on your birthday, and be happy that her good wishes are with you, however she chooses to express them.
Reply:hmmm.. well its never nice to have revenge. but, I would send a card of your belief. Or, maybe you should just let yourself cool down a bit, let your grandma give you all the religous cards she wants to and don't take offense at it, just simply let her. it may annoy you, but what is more important, your grandma or some issue over cards? I think that one or three religous cards a year won't be too bad. try to talk to her and see how she feels, and then tell her how you feel, try to talk about it calmly without offense.
Reply:All in all, its your family...don't let her get to you because it could be alot worse then you just getting a card from her! Don't send the card because you obviously know her well enough that it may get out of hand and that's the last thing you need. I think you are answering your own question but feel like just getting back at her.
Reply:Hey- you are right. it is insensitive and improper to send a religious card to someone of another faith.

That being said- hello! its your grandma! grandparents can be crazy! they are from a different generation and are set in their ways! she is not going to stop trying to "save you". so just deal with it.

seriously. just be gracious. i can't believe you are considering "getting back at" your grandma! thats wrong on so many levels.

besides, its not like she has to send you anything. you should be grateful to have a grandma that cares about you and focus your attention on more important things.
Reply:I know how you feel--I'm buddhist, and ALL of my co-workers and friends insist on getting me religious themed cards... I would send her a card from your faith, but don't make it seem negative or snyde. as long as you send it with good intentions, then there is no reason for it to cause trouble.
Reply:Let your dear ol' Gran do what she does...she's old fashioned and doesn't understand your choice to change your beliefs. In her mind, you are what you are, and you don't go changin' it. I wouldn't start a quarrel with her. Just accept it, and be glad she sends you birthday wishes!
Reply:i don't believe there's anything wrong with it. send her back a card and let her do the same. i mean, if it says god bless or something, that's no big deal. if it says

allah al akbar(i just know i butchered that, sorry!) again, there really isn't a problem. it's just someone trying to be nice. even a nice old yahweh(sorry again) bless you on your day of birth is fine. i'm not certain it's a disregard-she believes in it, and if she believes it, then her god is obviously just saying, have a happy birthday! and with most religions, people believe that others without that faith won't be going to the...nice places. it's too bad it offends you, but i'm sure she just wants to reach you...however, i'm sure if you told her, she'd just pick up a plain happy birthday card. of course, that won't stop her from writing something like god bless you in it, because her religion is a part of who she is, just like yours is of you, and it's going to come out in the way she acts no matter what...but i really wanna know what u mean by religious birthday cards. i'm not sure i understand, cuz God doesn't necessarily mean the christian one, it could mean allah or yahweh...i suppose it wouldn't go with buddhism...
Reply:My personal opinion... in general, the answer is no. But as I read your question, I think it the circumstances are different as it is from your grandmother. Whether she is right or wrong, she is showing you that she loves you and is trying to share her faith with you. It might be a fine line between love/ manipulation/ guilt but family relationships are never easy.

In your situation, I think it would be insensitive to 'accidentally' send her a religious card to 'pick a fight'. If you find a card that reflects your religion (not hers) and find that it fits the sentiment of the situation appropriately, then it might be okay.

I'd suggest not to start any 'religious quarrels'. I am giving her the benefit of the doubt that she is acting out of love, even if she is acting inappropriately. (Seems like we need to and should give family that benefit of the doubt). So whatever you do, do it out of love for her, and not out of spite. And if a quarrel should start, it can then be an opportunity for you to talk openly and honestly about your faith to your grandmother... as opposed to her percieving you as acting ignorant and insensitive yourself.
Reply:I send my blessings on your response to send the card in kind. Maybe she will get the hint after that.
Reply:Well first I would say that you shouldn't send her a card relating to your opposing faith because that would not only be poor taste but it would reflect poorly on your own faith, just as her actions reflect poorly on hers.

The thing is though that most people believe in a religion because of a precieved benifit that she is, in her own way, trying to pass on to you. Though her efforts are slightly misguided I would imagine that they are genuine.

I understand how manipulative people can be so if talking it out with her is truely impossible then I would recomend that you laugh the cards off as best you can and put them behind you.
Reply:She might not like the religion card about you.

Just give her a regular card.
Reply:Be nice.Be respectful it's your grandmother.Who will care after shes gone? You love her.
Reply:Hi Avie, what a thoughtful question you ask. It would hurt my feelings too, if I felt like a relative was disregarding my beliefs. I'd say it's rather tacky for her to be sending cards like that, but...

Honestly, I'd try to let it go. It's my experience with older relatives that it can sometimes be very hard to get through them. Sounds like there is love on all sides here, and if you're able to, try to "rise above," and just see this as a little foible of her's. I think sending her a greeting card of your religion would only make matters worse, even though it might help you feel like you're blowing off some steam.

If you can, just give her a mental hug when you get her cards, appreciate the love she feels for you, and recognize that virtually all religions have the same basic teachings (love, respect, etc.) It's rather tacky for her to be sending you cards like that, but try to see the cards with loving eyes, sigh, shrug your shoulders, shake your head, and be appreciative of having her in your life, foibles and all.

That's my 2 cents!
Reply:it's rude and inconsiderate to others, don't do that chances are you wouldn't want someone to do the same thing to you so why would you want them to do it to them, that's wrong all together. it's different if it's your gradmother sending you a card, cause she's known you your whole life she knows everything there is to know, she's your grandmother why would you want to start a stupid quarrel or a stupid card that you don't even seem to care about?
Reply:If we wish to send a message (show her what it is like) or be a little vindictive, then do it.

However, I think you should consider how you feel when you receive such cards from her.

Also, I think you should consider whether your religion would embrace such actions or whether the use of your religion to initiate a quarrel or tension is proper.

You might just have to be the bigger person.
Reply:Wow. This is a very difficult question. I don't believe birthday cards should be religiously themed at all.
Reply:your grandma must be wants the best for you, so she send such that card. I think that's okay and no problem with that kind of card but you shouldn't offend anyone with your card
Reply:While it could be viewed as inappropriate, especially if you've told her not to, chances are you won't be able to change her. If she's old and religious she's pretty stuck in her thinking. She probably hopes, deep down that you'll come around to her way of thinking.

In the end, just be glad that you have a grandma. Many people do not. I don't have any grandparents.

If you need to, feel free to send her a card from your faith. But what's important is the INTENT. If the two of you are sending cards back and forth not out of love and compassion but rather to change each other, neither of you are honest and truly honoring what the card signifies.
Reply:Too many people worry about everything..

Send any card you feel like, if they don't like it they can put it in the bin.....
Reply:Forget about it. Your grandmother obviously loves you, so just be thankful for her. She probably doesn't approve of your religious beliefs, but so what? She's elderly, and she's not going to change her opinions about anything, so just let it go. It's really not a big deal. You don't need to send her a card for people of your religion to make a point, because you have made your point by choosing your own religion, no matter what your family thinks of it. I know you're hurt because you don't have her approval in regard to your choices, but you can't make everybody happy all the time, can you? Just love your family and be thankful for them. I wish I had a grandmother to love me, and I also wish I had 700 relatives too.
