What should I write in a birthday card to my boyfriends mother?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for about 2 and a half months and for his mothers birthday I decided to buy her a $15 gift card to Barnes and Nobles and a nice card. What should I write in the card? I want it to be personal but I'm not sure if that's a good Idea...acutally any kind of ideas would work. Any help would be great!
