How long after a birthday do you think you should take the cards down?

My husband's cards are still up after 5 days and I feel bad about taking them down so they are still up.

How long after a birthday do you think you should take the cards down?
My birthday was 10/8/07 and I didn't get any cards, so leave them up.

Thanks to all for the belated birthday wishes, much appreciated!
Reply:Honey, there's no rule. Is your husband looking at them? Have you asked him if he'd like to keep them up for awhile? Why don't you start something new. Get a scrapbook and keep them in there. How fun to look back and see what somebody sent you and the kind words they wrote. In later years, that would 'feel' very warm. Just a though.
Reply:Down? You display them? If so, the day after. It's over.
Reply:it's really up to you. some people don't even put them up at all.
Reply:h ah a hah my birthday was the 7th of october and my mine are stil on top of the piano :P leave them up for a month or 2 XD hehehehehe
Reply:I will generally take Birthday cards down after 2 weeks. I leave Chritmas cards up until New Years.
Reply:I would say one week. That's how long I leave them up.

P.S.

Angelina...Sorry about you not getting any cards....I know it was a week ago....but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
Reply:When to you WANT to take them down? What's the rush? Is there a limit to the remembrances of the celebration? Maybe we should take the gifts back after 5 days, too! C'mon! Unless you have children who are fighting over "MY cards are still up but YOUR cards are DOWN" What's theharm? We've had Christmas cards hung up for WEEKS after Christmas.

Have a polite day.
Reply:I would take them down after a couple days a week at the most
