Is it okay to throw away old christmas/birthday cards?

may seem like a dumb question..do any of you do it?

Is it okay to throw away old christmas/birthday cards?
I think everyone handles that in their own way. My sister is the type to just read a card and toss it. In her opinion, the message has been received, appreciated and that's that. I guess I'm the more sentimental type because I've always had trouble tossing out things like that. I have some cards that I received 35+ years ago. My wife is less into accumulating clutter so I don't keep as many cards as I would if I were single, which is likely a good thing. I believe you just have to have some limits. Some cards are particularly special to you either because of who they are from or what they are for. A simple birthday wish from an aunt is likely one you can afford to let go.
Reply:Its ok if they are taking up too much space.
Reply:Only from people I don't like.
Reply:you have my okay to throw away old c and b cards......
Reply:I send them to be recycled
Reply:of course its ok! i do it.
Reply:Eventually, finally, yeah. I'm a 110; all those cards were taking up too much freakin' room...

Reply:well I think its ok, but I know I had a teacher back when I was in high school who used to make his into 3D snowflakes to decorate with I have to admit they were pretty awesome and if I could remember how to do them I'd do it myself.
Reply:i usually read it then throw them out lol ♥
Reply:Could you imagine keeping every birthday or Christmas card you get. Would take up a lot of space. Throw them away.
Reply:you should keep some of them!!! But from only the peeps that you like enough!!
Reply:after the season is over I always get rid of them. I would hate to think of what would happen if I kept them, they would run me out of the house
