It's my son's birthday tomorrow. He dropped out of university after 2 years (caused by a bad relationship with a girlfriend), did some temporary work whilst waiting to do a course which started this September, but has now failed one of the modules and will be asked to leave the course on his birthday. To get on this last course, he was one of 30 successful applicants from a total of 16,000. He is reliable, doesn't do drugs or drink excessively, and has never been in trouble. What words of encouragement can I write on his birthday card?
What encouragement to write on a birthday card for a son who is having problems?
I think all he would want is reassurance that you love him and are there for him no matter what! Love and acceptance goes a long way. Let him know you have faith in him and his future decisions. I know these things are just as hard on the parents than the child. Their sad feelings tend to be ours too. Good luck and Happy holidays.
