Should I get a 4 year old a birthday card?

My daughter got invited to a birthday party. We are both going, but I have never had a conversation with his dad, and I don't exactly know what toddler birthday party etiquette is. I am buying him a gift, but do I get him a card too?

Should I get a 4 year old a birthday card?
Have your daughter draw a picture that you make out of a birthday card.
Reply:Kids get a kick out of cards. My 4 year old loves the cards and keeps them for months after the event passes. I have to go through her toys every few months and get rid of the broken one or ones she doesn't play with, I find cards in her toy box that i've even forgotten about.
Reply:unless i am getting one for another adult, i never by birthday cards. come on, no one really cares, they just read them to be polite and of course check for money. it a waste of paper for the environment and money .
Reply:Not necessary but it may be nice if the parents use it for a keepsake. Some kids like cards. My baby is 1 year old and really likes it when I read cards to him.
Reply:Oh yes, they love them. They actually will hold on to them longer than playing with the toy. My daughter is only 3 but she still reads the cards she gets like they are a small book.
Reply:No, it's silly. However, parent's will do it for posterity...Halmark knows this ;^)
Reply:Make a card! They are the best. I'd rather get a homemade card!
Reply:It wouldn't hurt to get a card.
Reply:You should. It's not really necessary but it's the proper thing to do.
